Issuing the Commercial Registration
After completing the investment license and filing the Memorandum of Association, the next major step is obtaining a Commercial Registration (CR) through the Ministry of Commerce. This registration formally establishes your company as a legal entity in Saudi Arabia and is required before conducting any business operations.
To begin the application, you will need the following documents:
- Commercial registration of the company in the home country.
- Board resolution approving the branch or subsidiary (for existing foreign companies)
- A formalized Memorandum of Association (for new companies)
- Appointment of the general director
- Identification documents for the owners and the appointed general director
The application is completed online via the Saudi Business Center platform. You’ll fill in the establishment’s information, including business address, contact details, trade name, and selected business activities. The system will also require entering capital details and nominating the general director.
Following approval, your business is automatically registered with the relevant government entities, including the Ministry of Human Resources, ZATCA, GOSI, Saudi Post, and the Chamber of Commerce.
